I love a long weekend, simply because of all the extra knitting time you can get in. I've been slacking off on the Berkshire Pullover in favor of more colorful, smaller, faster working projects. This weekend I had my step brother's wedding to attend; a wonderful six and half hour drive away from home. That's right, 13 hours of uninterruped knitting time, which would have actually been spent knitting had it not been for the fact that we left at 3am to go to the wedding and drove back home at 8pm the same night. Suffice to say, much of that time was spent fading in and out of consciousness. But I did get a little over halfway done with one of Kristin Goedert's lovely Best Friend purses from the winter '05 issue of Knitty, and I finished one of the Reverse-Bloom Flower Washcloths from Weekend Knitting. I am really enjoying this book. Honestly, it's probably the first book I've bought that I've actually made something from. I'm not going to lie. For a person that's never knit anything out of a single book I've ever bought, I own entirely too many knitting books. So my new goal (since I've already achieved my goal of not buying yarn unless it's for a specific project) is to actually knit one item out of every book I own by this time next year. Hopefully I'll be able to stick to it. In the meantime, I'm off to finish at least the first sleeve of the Berkshire Pullover in the next 8 hours.
